--------------------------------------------------
This is my personal page to help some of the newbies that have just started to play PBNet. PaintBall-Net is a real-time online game, where you get to create a character of your own, and with that character you get to play against and with other players from all around the world.

Basically Ill just give a rough guide and tips to the different game types on PBNet. This game is played on a huge map, and on this map there are many different terrains, that i will explain a little on.  There are Seven Main types of games that are played in PaintBall-Net, Survival, Invaders, Flags, Hunt, Teams, Co-operative Flags and Real Survival. An i'll also give an idea of some of the Basic equipment that a new player might want to think about getting. Registering this game is also good idea to do, that's if you like this game enough of course, but i strongly recommend you doing so, it make this game even better.

In most of these games there are bots. Most of the time they are released randomly on the map, if you come close enough to a bot for it to censer you it will come after you. The best thing to do is to either shot it or run away from it. Along with the bots there are also tokens randomly placed on the map, they appear as a yellow diamond. They are worth from $5 - $90, so it's advisable to pick them up and you do this by stand right on top of it and type ?get token?.

On the maps that you play on, there are different types of terrains.
Grass:
This is the easiest and fastest terrain to move on, shots can be fired across these areas.
Forest:
When moving through it, you do go slower than when you going through the grass. But most of the time paintballs cannot be fired through it.
Jungle:
One of the best places to hide in, it conceals you well (when using camo), and painballs cannot be fired through them. This terrain does slow you down a fair bit though.
Hills:
Does slow you down when moving across it, and when you standing on top of them you can been seen easier by other player, but then you can also see farther when on it. It isn't recommended to hide on. Paintballs cannot pass through this terrain.
Mountains:
You move very slowly across this terrain, try to avoid it if you can. When standing on it you can see a lot farther on the map, but you also can be seen a lot easier by players. Paintballs cannot go through these.
Desert:
Not a good place to hide, it slows you down a fair bit and shots will go over this area.
Water:
Very, very annoying for most players. It slows you down a heck of a lot. Shots will pass over it.
Valleys:
Shots can be fired over them, but it does provide somewhat of a good hiding place. It is hard though to see out of them, but it's also hard to see into them too.

Ok, now that's the terrains for you. Its a good idea to become familiar to them, so then you know when to hide and where to hide.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to ask people online, they would be more than happy to help out a new Player (most of them anyway).

And Before I go:
If you really like this game, I recommend you to get a level up. Here's a bit of info in registering and Levels.

Levels influence your abilities on PBNet. They cannot be earned, they must be paid for. Some people do sell level ups for PBNet money, but it costs a lot. I wouldn't get one.

You start off as level 0 when you first log on.
Level 1s have sent in their email to register, but it bounced
Level 2s have registered with their email and have gotten the $2500 for doing so
Level 12+s are fully registered players

If you like the game, i'd STRONGLY suggest fully registering.
The way to do it is in the help menu on the top right, and it costs $10 real money. I'd suggest credit card, is secure and faster. It gets to you usually within the week, and you are fully set. If you mail it you have to wait longer, but it works too.

You become a level 12 and you get a lot of new options
like:
a locker in the shops that can hold your stuff out of battle. type put locker

the ability to drop things as well as give things, used for player to player trades

the ability to use rtells, rwhos, rreplys which work to other servers
(talk to people not on same server, who's on another server, etc.)

more games allowed per day

more weight capacity

more respect from people

more powerful vote

last but not least:
just like before, under the notes menu, go to read note and read them ALL!  One will be addressed specifically to you and will contain 500! That will vanish when you read it, but will give you the cash. Very useful.

After you are a level 12, you can buy extra level ups in much the same way. Additional level ups improve your weight carrying, games per day, and what people assume your ability is. Most people judge you by your level, though splat count is more accurate

Well that's all from me! Hope to see you all on PaintBall-Net.
